What makes your house a home?

Our home feels like ‘us’. We’ve really taken our time to intentionally fill it with furniture that will be long lasting and pieces that are ethically made. We have also collected ceramics and art from our travels that share a story. I think that’s what makes homes so personal and beautiful.

There are endless places you could buy your furniture from - why häti?

Häti has some of the most beautiful furniture I’ve ever seen. It is so durable and perfect for a home with a family. Everything feels heavy, made with real wood and crafted with so much intention and care. I really love the attention to detail in each piece as well— we currently have the Henrik counter stools (which completely elevated our kitchen), the Senja stool, and the Renee coffee table. I am looking forward to enjoying these pieces for many, many years.

Favorite room in your home and why?

Our home is a pretty open concept— but I really love our kitchen. I spend so much time there making my morning matcha and preparing meals for my family. Our kitchen opens to our living room and it’s just such an inviting space. I can see our backyard through the French doors and I admire all of the green, the butterflies, the bees, and the birds singing everywhere. It is truly magic.

What’s important to you when buying furniture?

Durability and real materials! Our toddler loves to sit on all our furniture, so having sturdy long lasting furniture is a must. I love solid wood and natural materials when it comes to the furniture we choose for our home. These materials add to the organic nature of our home that I love so much.
