the interview
What makes your house a home?
To us a home is a place where we can enjoy ordinary experiences: a slow morning cup of coffee, a shower with the sun streaming in, a cozy conversation with friends, a good night of sleep…it's nothing fancy and that’s what we love most. The way a home is designed has the ability to influence our daily rituals and connect us to nature’s cycles. Days are the foundation of our years, so we make a point to enjoy the small ordinary moments.

How would you describe your interior design style?
Timeless, bohemian, rustic, and desert—our spaces are heavily inspired by the landscape surrounding us.
There are endless places you could buy your furniture from—why häti?
We have had Häti’s Bali Loungers for years now, and not only are they gorgeous and sooo comfortable, they have held up beautifully outside when other loungers nearly fell apart in the same amount of time. We are big on using natural materials whenever possible, and love that these chairs are mostly made of natural materials as well. We are also eyeing your Editions collection which is full of creative designs.
Favorite room in your home and why?
We currently live on site at our small inn, JTH Tucson. The inn has many shared living spaces, but the outdoor living spaces have got to be our favorite—we have had some of the most magical evenings with friends and family sitting around the outdoor firepit, or swimming in the canyon pool.

What’s important to you when buying furniture?
Design and longevity. We’d much rather invest in pieces that stand the test of time, and believe in quality over quantity. Just a few pieces of furniture with design that makes us swoon and feel good in our space everyday is worth way more to us than a house overflowing with pieces that don't bring us joy.

How would you describe the way your home feels?
Inviting, carefree, peaceful, safe, and natural—we love natural materials and plants.
