What makes a house feel like a home to me is the story it tells. I’m drawn to spaces that feel collected rather than decorated, filled with pieces gathered over time, art that means something, books that have been loved, and trinkets from places you’ve travelled. The older I get, the more I realize it’s not about perfection. It’s about warmth. A home should feel lived in, welcoming, and like a place where people can truly relax and be themselves. If guests walk in and immediately want to kick off their shoes and stay awhile, that’s when I know we’ve gotten it right.

My favorite space in our home is the front library and record room. It’s where I keep my favorite books, records, and all the little objects I’ve collected over the years. It feels like the heart of the house to me, a place to put on a record, pour a cocktail, and settle into a great conversation. It’s equal parts cozy, nostalgic, and inspiring, which are probably my three favorite things a room can be.

I wake up before everyone else, make a coffee, and sit outside with my husband while we have our daily morning breakdown. The weather is somehow crisp and sunny, a statistical anomaly in Austin. We make breakfast together, take a family walk around the neighborhood, and everyone is in a good mood. No rushing, no arguing, no meltdowns. It’s simple, but that’s become my definition of luxury. A slow morning with the people I love most. And maybe 72 degrees. ;) 

Through a bit of fortunate happenstance. I had recently done a beautiful shoot with my girls for Cleobella, and at the very same time Häti was collaborating with them as well. It was one of those moments where two worlds unexpectedly overlap, and suddenly you’re introduced to people and brands that feel like they’ve been in your orbit all along.
